Music to My Ears
All of the song files are on an solid state disk attached to a single board computer, lightly sipping on power, attached to an Ethernet cable that trails to a switch. These files are then presented for access on the local network over the zero-conf protocol. Any nearby computer with the speakers can tap this wellspring of song with VLC and from there splash the sounds to thirsty ears. There is nothing better than using minimal mode with just the album cover up as the songs roll by.
